Malpais is a project by Eduardo Valderrey who, since 1996, has been investigating the direct relationship between the continuous redefinitions and readings of the limits of cities and the transformation of territories. Starting points where a series of works are proposed in a hybrid format (video, photography and installation) that reveal spaces and territories whose main characteristic is the absence of a defined identity.

The Malpais project is open and in the process of searching for "non-places" in spaces and territories where the conflict between urbanism and identity provokes a process of investigation and production of artistic proposals that help to build a reflection on the models of transformation of the territories.

These proposals are based on fragmented visual structures (photo-structures) and occupation architectures based on Site-Specific (video installation) where from a transversal language an attempt is made to build a multiple perspective towards the limits of the territories and their deconstruction.
